KATRINA STORIES PROJECT NEWS

6/22/06  We are finally firmly settled in New Orleans and opportunities for collaboration abound!  Please stay tuned for more information on that.  Meanwhile, our third story, from Matt Easley, who returned quite early after the storm, has been posted.  Please check our stories page for downloads.

Also, we have signed an agreement with International Humanities Center as our fiscal sponsor, assuring that all contributions to Katrina Stories Project are tax deductible to the extent of the law.  No worries, all contributions still go to the Katrina Stories Project.  IHCenter does all the processing and IRS interface, freeing us to focus on stories.

4/2/06  Our second story is up -- the father/daughter team of Judge and Ashley Hansen recount the story of their evacuation and that of Judge Hansen's parents.

The podcast is running and is available from this site and through I-tunes Music Store (for free).  Look for monthly updates until the stories start coming mo' faster.

We are currently working on locking up our non-profit status, and are moving basic operation of the project to New Orleans mid-April.

3/4/06  Our first story is up and running as of 3/2!  Thank you Ray and Anita!!  Scheduled to record another story tomorrow afternoon.

As soon as possible we'll set the stories up as a subscribable podcast, a new one every week until we catch up.  Stay tuned...  (Now, just gotta figure out how to do that...)

Now that we're finally moving into our first primary task, we're clearly going to need more storage and data transfer.  A bunch more.  This means money, so the Katrina Stories Project is seeking funding partners to keep this going and keep it interesting.  Email scott@katrinastoriesproject.net.
